AWN was pleased to attend the 18th Southeast Field Days in Lucindale, South Australia. Over two days, the event featured over 500 exhibitors and attracted more than 25,000 attendees. It showcased agricultural products, services, and equipment, and served as an opportunity for the South Australian and Victorian ag industries to connect.
AWN staff members, including Rob Williams, Rod Miller, Nick Lawrence, Caitlin Marie Flanagan-Organ, Jared Phillips, Millie Austin, Russell Macgugan, and Tom Simmons attended this year’s event, with Rob Williams from Naracoorte overseeing the event. The AWN team caught up with many clients from across the region, with some wool growers in attendance from as far away as Kangaroo Island. Attendees who visited the AWN site were keen to discuss the latest market trends, and with the 21-micron indicator hovering at five-year highs, there were some positive conversations around the outlook for wool.
This event is also an important opportunity for AWN staff to engage with clients and discuss the wool market and broader business strategies. AWN’s training helps facilitate these conversations, particularly on mental health, which is a growing concern for many in the agricultural sector.
Rod Miller (SA State Manager) emphasised the importance of well-being, reminding everyone that a farmer’s greatest asset is not just their land or livestock but the health and well-being of those around them. With the ongoing challenges posed by poor seasonal conditions and drought, these conversations are key to ensuring that AWN continues to support our clients in any way we can.
