Full-time – Group Credit Manager | Sydney NSW (Hybrid)
Location: Sydney NSW (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time
About us (AWN):
AWN is a 100% Australian-owned agribusiness founded in 1999, providing services across wool, livestock and property. We support producers with market access, advice and trusted on-the-ground expertise.
We are committed to delivering practical solutions and high-quality service, supported by strong relationships across the agricultural supply chain. Our people are central to that commitment, and we invest in them to continue delivering the outcomes AWN is known for.
About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Group Credit Manager to join our Shared Service team. Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for credit risk across the debtor and advances portfolio, including credit assessment, collections, customer limits, repayment arrangements and credit compliance. This role is critical to protecting cash flow, improving DSO and debtor ageing outcomes, and maintaining disciplined oversight of the accounts receivable ledger.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an important finance function in a business where credit discipline, commercial judgement and stakeholder influence genuinely matter. You will work closely with the CFO and operational teams across the business, with the scope to make a visible impact on working capital performance and risk outcomes.
What you will be doing:
- Manage credit risk across the debtor and advances portfolio.
- Assess new and existing customer exposures, including credit limits, terms and security requirements.
- Lead collections activity and manage repayment arrangements, escalations and overdue accounts.
- Monitor and report on key credit and working capital metrics, including DSO, debtor ageing, overdue balances, bad debts, advances and credit exposures.
- Maintain credit policies, approval limits, documentation and exception reporting.
- Manage PPSR registrations, checks and other security arrangements where required.
- Work closely with operational stakeholders, legal advisers and management on higher-risk matters and credit issues.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in credit management, collections, or a senior credit or receivables role, with demonstrated experience operating independently and exercising sound commercial judgement.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance customer relationships with disciplined credit decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage difficult conversations and drive collection outcomes.
- Strong analytical capability, including reviewing financial information, monitoring ageing trends and supporting decisions with clear reporting.
- Experience with secured credit, PPSR, advances, or agribusiness-related lending will be highly regarded.
- Strong ERP, Excel and reporting capability, with disciplined documentation and process management.
Why join us
You will join a business where this role matters. We are looking for someone who is commercially pragmatic, operationally strong and confident taking ownership of credit outcomes in a collaborative environment. The role offers flexibility, visibility and the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to cash flow, risk management and working capital performance.
