Watson Family, Portana & Oakdale
The Watson family have been running their merino production operation on their properties Portana and Oakdale, out of Tooligie, South Australia, for the past 45 years. Their property provides excellent shallow-water while proudly running an eco-friendly operation without the use of sprays or artificial fertiliser.
The Watson’s are currently running 10,000 merinos with the quest of continuing to improve the quality of their sheep through their breeding program.
The Watson’s see the Eyre Peninsula DNA Program as a pathway to an exciting future of closer relations between growers, processors and customers.
