Prices for scanned-in-lamb ewes reached $660 at the dispersal of Kaaroona Aussie Whites in Mudoona, Victoria.
A total of 98 ewes were offered, fetching an average of $555, with the top priced ewe going to the Ballarat region in Victoria.
A line of commercial ewe lambs SIL sold for $590 while an undetectable ewe lamb staying local made $460.
A total of 4 rams were also offered, averaging $1160 with the top priced ram at $1220 going to Kingston in the South East region of South Australia.
Scott Donaldson, Branch Manager of AWN Robson Donaldson in Shepparton and AuctionPlus Level 3 Accredited assessor, conducted the sale said that the prices represented the quality of the stock, which is in high demand.
Mr Donaldson said “Kaaroona focused on breeding durable and correct Aussie Whites with excellent genetics. We had interest from parties in Victoria as well as NSW and South Australia. The growing popularity of the breed and limited number of good stock available saw both ewes and rams sell well above expectation. The vendors are thrilled with the result.”
Operating locally since 1981, Robson Donaldson was recently acquired by AWN.
