Passion and ‘can-do’ spirit forging success in WA

<< Back to News & Media

AWN’s Western Australian property team is riding a wave of success with more than $13m worth of sales settled in just one month and more than $10m in the pipeline.

On the back of that success, and with its continued commitment to expansion, AWN has secured the services of well-known real estate agent John Harris who has come out of retirement to make the most of an opportunity to join a team with a ‘can-do’ spirit.

WA rural property manager Rob McMillan said John’s business approach and experience would be a great fit with AWN.

“John brings a wealth of rural and commercial experience, as well as his proven real estate marketing and sales experience. These are excellent credentials ideal for helping farmers and investors achieve their rural property objectives.’’

Extending beyond his family’s direct farming interests, John’s connection with rural property goes back to the days of Dalgety’s in the late 70s and spans service on the franchise advisory councils of some of WA’s biggest franchised property groups.

His real estate activity focused on servicing the Midland, Perth Hills and Swan Valley. With experience and credentials extending from ‘boots to suits and back again’, John said he doesn’t mind a chat and, in his white F-250, his VHF 40 radio is generally on air.

According to John, the evident vitality of management, customer service orientation and the AWN team’s “can-do” spirit meant it wasn’t hard to get enthusiastic about something so potentially exciting.

A big part of that excitement is the bullish trend being shown in land values, no matter the size, he said.

“The time to market is good. Sound properties have never been better as they provide an opportunity for owners to realise an asset and enjoy the fruits of their labour. That window of opportunity is definitely now.”

Also performing a pivotal role in the successful expansion of our portfolio in Western Australia is a team of passionate specialists who are offering the same elite level of rural property services which the company’s clients are already experiencing in wool and livestock.

WA wool and livestock manager Greg Tilbrook, along with rural property specialist Rowan Spittle and administration manager Jodie Matthews, bring experience and skills which enable them to get the best results for clients through our company’s philosophies of value-adding and customer service.

Greg said the addition of the rural property arm was fantastic for the WA landscape.

“We have had fantastic support and we are widely recognised within the farming community. We have had huge success in bringing our unique brand to WA in the areas of wool, livestock and property and we have the experienced staff to keep growing into the future,’’ he said.

AWN WA rural property specialist Rowan Spittle’s passion for all things farming was generated through lived experience growing up on a farm in Condingup.

“The lived experience of being part of a family farm and providing agricultural contracting and mapping services helps me understand the issues involved and achieve results for both buyers and sellers with what is, after all, one of your most precious assets.’’

Rowan services Esperance, the south-east Wheatbelt and surrounding regions, offering expert advice and knowledge in the rural property field.

No team is complete without administration to bring it together with Jodie Matthews providing services for the entire WA group.

“It is so exciting the way the business is growing. I am really looking forward to its future growth. I have my real estate licence, so I’m hoping to be able to put this to good use in the future,’’ she said.
