AWN today announced expansion into Western Australia for the first time under the AWN brand.
Founded in 1999 with a vision to connect wool growers and wool processors, AWN quickly grew to become Australia’s largest independent wool broker with the rapid expansion of their rural services businesses, with significant growth in their livestock and property agency.
Renowned for its innovative approach to wool marketing, AWN has stepped outside the square of traditional wool marketing services, offering its clients a greater connection to the supply chain and consumers. Leveraging their domestic and international supply chain connections provides their clients with exclusive “bale to retail” opportunities, through their DNA program as well as through their exclusive relationship with New Zealand Merino on the ZQ Program in Australia.
Their continued expansion in livestock and property agency is backed by plans to add value to the livestock chain through new programs that add value to clients, similar to what they currently offer in wool.
AWN is also the majority shareholder of ag-tech start-up, AgVet Innovations, whose patented Sheep Freeze Branding process has generated excitement amongst wool producers looking to promote lifetime breech health for their sheep.
AWN first entered the Western Australia market in 2008, partnering with iconic local wool brokers, Dyson Jones, under which name it continues to trade.
AWN Managing Director John Colley said that AWN’s expansion into Western Australia was a natural progression for the growth-focused business.
“We are extremely pleased to announce our move into Western Australia under the AWN banner. We have a strong track record of delivering innovative marketing solutions and exceptional results for Dyson Jones clients in the West as well as our AWN clients in the East. AWN will now operate side by side Dyson Jones in providing our unique service offering to wool and livestock clients in more locations across Western Australia.” Mr Colley said.
This is the latest in a series of expansion activities for the rapidly growing Australian-owned business, who recently announced the opening of two new livestock and property agency branches in Victoria.
