AWN AWN is preparing for its first sheep sale at the Katanning saleyards in mid-September.
Don Morgan, who was recently announced as the livestock manager of AWN’s Western state operations, said that the opening of AWN’s branch in the West couldn’t have come at a better time.
“Early Spring is the busiest time of year in the livestock game and I am incredibly pleased that we are already in a position to be buying and selling livestock on behalf of AWN clients in the West, providing another avenue for producers in the West to maximise their profitability,” Mr Morgan said.
“Access to the saleyards at Katanning is the first step and we are looking forward to selling at Muchea as early as mid-October. We are looking to rapidly ramp up our livestock business in the West and we will be actively recruiting livestock agents in the coming months who can support our clients across the state.”
AWN, Australia’s largest independent wool broker and rapidly expanding livestock and property agency announced their expansion into Western Australia last month. The Australian-owned business has operated in the West since 2008 when it acquired a majority shareholding in iconic local wool brokers, Dyson Jones.
AWN’s expansion into the West is the latest in a series for its livestock and property agency, which recently included the acquisition of a successful Victorian-based agency as well as the establishment of a Greenfields site.
