AWN AWN today announced the latest expansion of its livestock business, acquiring Parkes-based livestock and property agency, Langlands Hanlon.
AWN Chief Operating Officer, Rick Maybury said that the business, which will be known as AWN Langlands Hanlon, will give clients access to a network of agents and selling centres across the country. “I am pleased to announce that the Langlands Hanlon team will be joining AWN’s growing livestock and property agency network,” he said.
“The Langlands Hanlon team are extremely well-regarded in the region. Their client-first approach and focus on delivering the best results align with AWN’s philosophy, making this a great fit for both teams and for clients.
“The region is a key area for livestock clients, and we are looking forward to supporting more clients across central New South Wales.”
Renowned for its customer-focused approach, the Langlands Hanlon team are passionate about delivering real outcomes for clients. Licensee and auctioneer Geoff Rice and real estate manager Renee Rice purchased the Langlands Hanlon business in 2004, which has operated out of the same office in Parkes for almost 80 years. Geoff, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, said that he is excited for the future.

“This venture will provide more opportunities for our clients and give us an expanded network of staff.” AWN Langlands Hanlon will continue to provide the region with a wide range of services from weekly sheep and cattle sales at the Central West Livestock Exchange at Forbes and the Regional Livestock Exchange at Carcoar to AuctionsPlus and over the hook as well as private on-farm trading.
AWN, Australia’s largest independent wool broker, has undertaken a rapid expansion of its livestock and property footprint across Australia in recent months. This included the acquisition of another successful livestock business and the establishment of two greenfields sites, one in Victoria and the other in Western Australia.
