Growing agri-services business AWN has announced the acquisition of successful Orange New South Wales-based livestock and property agency, McCarron Cullinane.

The Central West agency, which will take the AWN brand, strategically positions the rapidly expanding Australian business in a key agricultural production region. This is the second business in the Central West of New South Wales that AWN has acquired in recent years, following the acquisition of Langlands Hanlon in Parkes.

AWN Chief Operating Officer, Rick Maybury, said that the acquisition of McCarron Cullinane is an excellent fit culturally and strategically for the growing Australian-owned business.

“I am pleased to welcome the McCarron Cullinane team to AWN. The team is highly regarded in the region, and their client-first approach is an excellent fit with AWN,” Mr Maybury said.

“It is an incredible time to be in agribusiness, with the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences tipping agricultural exports to hit over $70 billion this financial year. As a pure-play agri-services business, AWN is looking forward to supporting more clients in delivering value for their outputs across rural Australia as we continue to expand.”

Branch manager Lindsay Fryer said that the team are pleased to be able to take the next step in enhancing the service that they provide to their clients.

“We are excited to have joined the AWN network. For us, providing our clients with access to a network of livestock agents and buyers across rural Australia is important but so is ensuring that in the process we don’t compromise on the quality of the service that we provide our clients. I know that with AWN we will be able to put a big tick in both boxes for all our clients.”

“The exceptional growth and reputation of McCarron Cullinane over the past fifty years is due to our tremendous team, hard work, and professionalism. Our staff will be moving forward with us under the AWN banner, and we are all excited about the opportunities that AWN will offer our clients.

“We will continue to provide our clients with the same personalised and expert service that they have enjoyed over the past fifty years, and I would like to personally thank our clients for their loyalty.”

Livestock manager Darren Connick echoed Mr Fryer’s comments.

“The support that our clients have shown us over the years and the trust that they put in us is what makes this job so rewarding. Moving forward doing the right thing by our clients is always our priority. I am looking forward to us continuing to provide a high level of service to all our clients.”

Brian Cullinane, who was one of the founders of McCarron Cullinane, said that he is pleased with the business taking its next step in supporting its clients by joining AWN’s national network of agents.

Looking back on his 50 years of involvement with the company Brian wished to express his appreciation and sincere thanks to their supportive families, dedicated staff, and many loyal clients.

“McCarron Culliane was founded on the principles of total reliability, honesty, service to clients, a comprehensive understanding of the industry and extensive local knowledge,” Mr Cullinane said.

“Nothing should change – same principles, same staff, same address, same services – with the added benefit of AWN bringing many additional advantages to all who participate.”

The acquisition of McCarron Cullinane is the latest in a series of expansion activities for the Australian-owned agribusiness, which in recent years has invested heavily in expansion through acquisitions and the establishment of numerous greenfield sites in key production areas across rural Australia.
