AWN, a prominent national rural services business, has announced the acquisition of Dubbo-based livestock and property agency P.T. Lord Dakin & Associates (P.T. Lord).
With a 35-year history, P.T. Lord has established itself as the leading agency in cattle and sheep sales at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Exchange, a key agricultural production region in Australia.
AWN Managing Director and CEO, John Colley, said that the acquisition enhances the company’s position as one of Australia’s largest rural services businesses.
“We are pleased to announce the acquisition of P.T. Lord. The business is highly regarded in the region and strongly aligns strategically whilst also being an excellent cultural fit with AWN. This acquisition will strengthen our position as one of Australia’s largest rural services businesses and provide P.T. Lord with access to AWN’s national network of wool, livestock, and real estate agents and major Australian auction centres.

“It is an incredible time to be in the agribusiness sector, with the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences forecasting Australian agricultural production and export values to reach record levels of $90 billion and $75 billion, respectively, this financial year. We look forward to continued sustainable growth as we invest sensibly and strategically in our expansion.”
AWN was founded in 1999 as a specialist wool broker and quickly grew to become the country’s largest independent wool broker. Through strategic diversification into livestock and rural real estate services, AWN has experienced substantial organic and inorganic growth, solidifying its position as one of Australia’s largest rural services businesses.
