AWN has invested in its logistics footprint in Western Australia with the opening of a new wool store warehouse on Howson Way, Bibra Lake. As a 100% Australian-owned private company and leading pastoral house, AWN delivers integrated agricultural services and marketing across wool, livestock, and property. This expansion signifies a deep commitment to the WA wool industry and strengthens existing operations.

To ensure a more efficient and cost-effective service for woolgrowers, AWN committed to the multi-million-dollar redevelopment approximately 24 months ago to streamline its wool handling operations. This new warehouse supports AWN’s commitment to the local wool industry amidst structural changes.

The move was aimed at improving efficiency by centralising operations. AWN merged the groups’ warehouse’s operations into a single, optimised complex to streamline processes and management. This new facility allows AWN to more effectively utilise its staff and physical space, which will lead to a more competitive handling facility and a reduced operational footprint.

Further benefits include utilising fewer forklifts, more efficient movement of trucks, and increased core line capacity, which enhances processing during peak periods.

AWN’s Wool & Livestock State Manager, Greg Tilbrook, highlighted the company’s commitment to the region.

“AWN is still relatively new to Western Australia, but we are here for the long haul because we want to maximise the returns for our clients,” Greg said, adding that in the face of current industry challenges,” anything that AWN can do will only benefit long-term.”

AWN’s Managing Director & CEO, Rick Maybury, also commented on the investment, stating,

This investment reflects AWN’s long-term commitment to Western Australia’s wool industry. By streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency, we’re ensuring woolgrowers receive the service and support they deserve; today and into the future.

Woolgrowers can expect a quicker turnaround for the receival of wool and test results, which will improve marketing efficiencies. The new facility reinforces AWN’s long-term commitment to the Western Australian wool market.
